When I heard the story of the Virginia Tech tragedy I was especially sadened by the loss of Reema. Although I never knew her personally she reminds me of my own niece Rima. The both of them have the same light that shines through their smiles. I am sorry that she was taken away from you so abruptly. Reema has made a difference in my life. She reminds me to live my life passionately as she did when she was still with us.

I wrote a poem for Reema's family:
Little Victim
Now that the sun has set I gather all my wishes in a bowl Absently I watch the bubbles burst Each one a dear wish Never to be fulfilled
I wished you would touch the stars one day The studded sky your dance floor I wanted to watch you twirl I wanted to see you soar
Now the moon kisses your forehead You move on the clouds For you the sky sings For you the rain drums on the ground
You dreamed one night That a thief stole your dancing shoes I was angry then At the dream and the unknown thief
You did not see it coming The voices, the shouts of the fallen and those who rose You didn’t because you were long gone
I could not be your savior You could not be a survivor I place a rose on the earth above you Let not the thorn prick your fingers
Dance where you may; laugh endlessly And when you can, remember a moment in time When you feet did not touch the ground and in twirling, you forgot the world around you

I didnt know her personally but I am very saddened about this tragic event. I cant find enough words to express my sorrow. I am a high school student just one year younger than Reema. Her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. Reema, you will always be remembered.

I only met Reema briefly at the end of March during a ZUMBA dance workshop at VT. Her beauty, style, passion, and warmth showed in her performance. Always smiling... she shall be greatly missed.

My heart breaks for you and this terrible loss. I did not know your beautiful Reema but in reading about the horrible event and about those affected I was touched by her smile. I am the mother of a college student and a bellydancer. I pray that god will guide you thru this time of grief. My prayers are with you all. Julie from Columbus, Ohio

I would like to say how very sorry i am about the death of Reema Samaha. I did not know her but i have learnt a lot about her in the past couple of weeks. For what i have heard she was a loving and kind person and has acheived a lot of things. I am a lebanese australian and i would like to say that all the lebanese all around the world are very sorry this happened Reema did not deserve to die so young none of the victoms deserved to die that day was a tragedy and i hope that it will never happen again. Reema was to young to die she had a good life ahead of her and its not fair that her life was taken away from her like this. May her soul rest in peace we will never forget you Reema god bless you.

Visiting Virginia Tech and Westfield High School last week I've got an ingredible feedback on who Reema was and meant to people. Please go on remembering her love for dance, her smile and Reema as the beautiful, lovely person she was. I tell you the message reaches the world! Harry, Germany/Canada

Since I first met Reema, I was impressed with her kind heart and fun spirit. She was the sort of person that could brighten any day with a flash of her beautiful, contagious smile. We will always remember her this way.

Dancing with Reema was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The way she shined when she danced showed everyone how much you loved to perform. It's rare in life to come across someone with such a zest for life who truly follows her passion the way Reema did, and I really hope to some day follow my heart the same way. I will really miss her.

Reema joined Hill and Veil just last fall. Just one look at her dancing told you that she was a natural born dancer and dancing what what she really loved to do. Hill and Veil will never be the same without Reema's smile and enthusiasm. I hope you all find it comforting to have a place to leave your messages for Reema, her friends, and her family. If you have any questions or concerns about our website, please feel free to send me an email. - Liz
